Ask Questions, Invite Friends

Written by Richard. Published on Feb 24th 2010, 22:59. [ site features ]

We've been working hard over the past few weeks to bring you even more features, and we're pleased to say that a few of them have gone live over the past 24 hours.

The first one is a big one, and that's our new Ask the Wedding Community feature. This is for those people who don't currently have an account, but would like to ask a question on our forum and find out what we (as in me and Andrea) or our community think. Rather than making you signup, we're now giving you a really simple way to ask a quick question and get it on the forum for everyone to see, and we'll even send you an email when somebody answers your question. We're hoping this will encourage people to start participating in our community, and when they see how great the answers they get are, perhaps convert to a full account and take advantage of everything else.

Secondly, a social network is only as good as the friends you have on there. That's why we've now added an Invite Friends option on the Friends page, so if you already have an account you can quickly enter the email addresses of the friends you want to invite, and we'll send them an email with details on how they can join too. If you have bridesmaids or groomsmen, a mother of the bride or any other member of the wedding party you want to start involving, what better way than to friend them up here on the site. You'll be able to start communicating on the forums and sharing your photos with each other in minutes.

And finally, we've added a little box on the homepage that shows a random selection of users, so you can see who some of the other members of the community are. We like to think this is a small family, so it's always nice to see who your brothers and sisters are.

There's more coming soon, be sure to let us know what you'd like to see in the comments.
