Instead of the traditional guestbook for your guests to leave messages why not have them leave something in a keepsake box that passes on their wishes and luck to you both. I love this unusual idea as I think I would have definitely treasured something like this probably more than a guestbook, which at our wedding didn't really get filled.

These can be found here Wooden Keepsake Box, Amazon.
Not sure about a box? How about a wedding wishing tree? This is a dutch tradition where you leave little pieces of card, (these could be in the colour and shape to match your theme), for people to write little messages on and attach to a tree by way of a clip/peg. The end result is small potted tree/bare branches to be displayed during your day with lots of little paper wishes scattered across it. This can be very pretty and again a little unusual. Here are a couple of examples...

Still like the idea of a guestbook but want to add a bit of fun to it? How about getting an old polaroid camera to have next to the signing table so your quests can be a little creative when leaving you a message?

You can find polaroid guestbook packs here Instant Forever.
There are loads of ways to keep with traditions but put your own style and unique stamp on them so get creative.
