I'm stuck for ideas for gifts to give to people.

Having never been to a wedding before, and my own being the first I'll have been too, I'm stuck for ideas.

Anyone got any suggestions for best man, ushers and bridesmaids?

Hi Benno!

Firstly I think it's kinda cool that the first wedding you will have been to is your own!

Gifts for your wedding party should just be small token gestures either for them to keep as a memento of the day or something they can use on the day and then keep. Things that can be engraved are always really popular like a hip flask for the men or a make up mirror/trinket box for the ladies.

How creative you are with the gifts I think depends on the person you are giving it to. For example I know that an older relative wouldn't necessarily appreciate personalised boxer shorts for the day however a best man might. there are tonnes of bridesmaid/best man personalised gifts available from socks to cufflinks and mirrors to photoframes.

Or you could do what I did and for the bridesmaids get them some jewellery that they can wear on the day? that way I also could tell them what to wear but in a nice way lol. I put together a little bridesmaid box with a few little things like "bridesmaid" pjs which they wore on the morning of. but you could put anything in it that you think your bridesmaids would appreciate. A mini bottle of bubbly for the morning of the wedding for example.

For our best man we got a simple stylish watch that we knew would suit him. For the fathers we got them cufflinks with "father of the bride/groom" on them.

If you have little pageboys/ushers or flowergirls there are really lovely scrapbooks that come with a disposable camera for them to document their day at your wedding (I thought this was a lovely idea http://www.theweddingparty.co.uk/camera-this-pageboy-p-658.html?cPath=42_107)

I don't think it needs to be massively expensive just a little something to show that you appreciate them.

Hope this helped!

Hi Andrea,

Apologies for the delay in coming back to you... Busy balancing the work/life regime and sorting out the final bits before the big day - not far off for us now!

Thanks for your suggestions, I've ordered a few bits that you suggested and threw in a couple of random ones.

Managed to exchange some Tesco Clubcard vouchers for Goldsmiths vouchers, which eased the pain slightly and allowed us to buy something that little bit more special for the bridesmaids.

Picked up the "This Is My Day As A Pageboy" - looks brilliant and our little pageboy and his mum I'm sure will enjoy completing it.

I wont say too much before hand - dont want to spoil anything for anyone! (Some of my ushers are tech savvy ;-) )

I'll try to remember to reveal all after the wedding, especially if it will help someone else - I was fortunate enough to work from which gave me time to think about it (too much sometimes, must catch up on work! ) and arrange it all.

Thanks again!

Aren't Tesco clubcard points a godsend!? We just converted ours to Airmiles so really looking forward to using them :)

I know how mean about having too much time - sometimes it just makes the decisions harder! Glad you got your gifts sorted sounds like everyone will be delighted with them.

I really enjoyed the run up to the big day so don't forget to enjoy this bit as well and don't get too bogged down with the little bits and bobs.

We'd love to hear how it all goes so please come back and share your big day with us. We love to drool over wedding piccies.

Andrea

You know I was a bridesmaid for my friend and got a necklace, I still have it to this day and that was ten years ago, I totally loved it.
