Wedding Cake Wednesday

Here at The Big Wedding Site we love love love wedding cakes.

After rounding up our favourites from around the web we’re rather hungry and could do with a big slice of sponge and a cuppa!

This gorgeous vintage inspired cake would be perfect for a garden wedding at home. Think bunting, picket fencing and flowers everywhere.  Head on over to Kiss My Cake for a whole bunch of other gorgeous cakes to drool over.

Fuchsia is all the rage for summer weddings and what better way to accent your theme colour by adding this gloriously pink creation?  You can find the creator over at Sweet Love Cake Creations.

Carrying on the summer colour scheme take a look at the lovely floral detail on this cake.  The makers at Tita Cakes make such gloriously whimsical cakes, we just love them!

The ruffles on this cake are stunning.  It’s simple yet dramatic and we think it would be perfect for a vintage themed wedding or add a monogram of the bride and groom’s initials on top and suddenly it becomes ultra modern.  You can find the baker of this over at Tickled Pink Cakes.

Don’t like the look of a separate tiered cake? Voila you could have this ruched layered cake instead.  If pink doesn’t suit your colour palette this look would work with any number of different colours.  Take a look Jacques Pastries to see what else they have to offer.

Vintage lace, delicate buttons and sugar flowers. We adore this 4 tiered beauty from Cute Sweet Things and they even give us a tutorial on how to create it, as if we could do this ourselves!

I think this is my all time favourite cake. It may seem a little busy for some people’s taste but the lace trim, trailing flowers & sparkle detail just ticks all the boxes for me.  In fact we love everything that The Cake Zone do.  In fact here are some more just because we love looking at cakes…

If this wasn’t enough to whet your appetite you can also head over to our Pinterest board where we have loads more sponge goodness.
